Our Coaching Staff

The NHS Boys and Girls Swimming team is lead by head coach, Rich Wolfred.

Coach Wolfred is entering his 3rd year of coaching at Noblesville High School. He swam competitively at the Riviera Swim Club under the Indiana Hall of Fame Coach, Gene Lee and also competed on the collegiate level at Purdue University. He was both a Junior and Senior National qualifier and held numerous State relay records during his age group swimming career.

Coach Wolfred spent 18 years coaching the Lawrence Swim Team and grew the club from 75 to over 200 swimmers. He coached many State champions, Top 16 and Junior National qualifiers.

  
Wolfred is married to Kristen and has 3 children – Alex, Jordan and Jack.

Assisting Coach Wolfred are Trischa Zhorn and Eric Prugh.

Trischa Zorn

A native from Mission Viejo, California, Coach Zorn attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on a Full Athletic Scholarship.  While at Nebraska, she earned NCAA All American honors and was named to the All Big 12 Academic Team graduating with a B.S. in Elementary Education/Special Education.  Trischa later earned her M.S. in School Administration from IUPUI and taught in the Indianapolis Public Schools for nine years.  After teaching, Zorn attended Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis where she earned a J.D. degree in May of 2005.  

 

      Coach Zorn is the most highly decorated athlete in the history of the Paralympic Games, having collected 55 medals including 41 Gold, 9 Silver, and 5 Bronze.  She was an alternate to the 1980 Olympic swim team and was named one of the top ten female athletes by the United States Olympic Committee.  Zorn retired from competitive swimming after competing in the Athens Games in 2004 where she earned a Bronze in the 100m Backstroke.

Eric Prugh

Eric was raised in Indianapolis, IN, and attended North Central High School. A captain and 3-time Mental Attitude award winner, he swam under Indiana Swimming Hall of Fame Coach Mark Hesse and led the Panthers to a state runner-up showing at the 2001 IHSAA State Championships. He finaled in the 50 and 100 freestyles.


While pursuing swimming in the Big Ten for the Purdue Boilermakers, he finaled at the Big Ten Championships in the 200 freestyle and led the team, as a captain, to a 5th place showing in the Big Ten and a 20th place showing at the NCAA National Championships. He also was awarded the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award and the R.O. Papenguth Award for "unrelenting efforts of loyalty and dedciation to Purdue Swimming". Eric has a degree in Computer Graphics Technology and is currently developing Web sites for Outside Source Design.  
    

By being a swim coach, he not only plans on challenging Noblesville's fine athletes to be better swimmers but also to develop strong bonds among teammates and to strive to be more balanced, focused people.
